Dr. Adelson is the founding physician of Arthritis and Pain Associates of P.G. County and the Osteoporosis Center of P.G. County. He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in both rheumatology and internal medicine. He is also an active Fellow Member of the American College of  Rheumatology (FACR). He is also certified in Clinical Densitometry by the International Society for Clinical Densitometry.
Dr. Adelson graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Michigan with his B.A. in Philosophy in
1972 and received his M.D. from Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in 1977. He then completed his
residency in internal medicine at Georgetown University Hospital in 1980 and his fellowship in rheumatology
at Johns Hopkins Hospital in 1982.
He is an active member of the D.C. Rheumatism Society, the Lupus Foundation of Greater Washington, the
Maryland Lupus Foundation, Prince George's County Medical Society, and the American Medical Association. He was rated as one of America’s Top Physicians by the Consumers’ Research Council of America in the specialty of rheumatology.
