Dr. Konatalapalli earned medical degree from Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore, India, in 2001. She
completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Prince George’s Hospital Center in Maryland. Soon after, 
Dr. Konatalapalli joined Washington Hospital Center, D.C as a Research Fellow in Rheumatology and
completed the Clinical Fellowship in Rheumatology and board certified in rheumatology and internal
medicine.  
During her fellowship at Washington Hospital Center, Dr. Konatalapalli was involved in many research
projects. She was the lead investigator in the study of Axial Gout, which was presented at the annual
scientific meetings of American College of Rheumatology (ACR) in Atlanta and Washington, D.C., and
published in the ‘Journal of Rheumatology’ (2009).
Dr. Konatalapalli joined our practice in July 2011. Her areas of interest include systemic lupus and
crystalline arthropathies.
