Corticosteroid injections

These are one of the safest ways to decrease the pain and inflammation of rheumatologic disorders. When used appropriately they are safer than any prescription medication for arthritis.

Hyaluronate viscosupplementation injections

These injections include Euflexxa, Synvisc, Hyalgan, and Supartz etc. These injections consist of hyaluronic acid (hyaluronate) which is the main molecule in our joint fluid which makes the fluid thick and lubricating.  The synovial fluid becomes thicker, more viscous, and lubricates the joint better again. This can help to decrease the pain and stiffness of arthritis.

Nerve blocks
